This year the date coincided with another important anniversary: the world premi\u00e8re of <em>Coro<\/em>, one of the cornerstones of Berio\u2019s oeuvre, which was performed for the first time forty years ago, on the 24th of October 1976 in Donaueschingen with the composer himself conducting the WDR Rundfunkchor and Rundfunkorchester K\u00f6ln (for more information on the work click <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/https:\/\/dev.lucianoberio.org\/opera\/coro\/\">here<\/a><\/strong>).<br \/>\nWe wish to celebrate this double &#8220;birthday&#8221; with a selection of documents that confirm the importance of <em>Coro<\/em> for Berio\u2019s poetics: \u00abThe work deals with the problem perhaps more deeply rooted in me: put together, give an order to seemingly disparate things\u00bb, highlighting the idea of <em>Coro<\/em> as an encounter of different cultures and periods, as a dialogue between different techniques and styles that merge without ever losing their individuality.<br \/>\nThe homage includes the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucianoberio.org\/luciano-berio-coro?997438025=1\">full audio track<\/a><\/strong> of <em>Coro<\/em> as well as excerpts from Luciano Berio\u2019s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucianoberio.org\/luciano-berio-constants-1991?1364340907=1\">writings<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucianoberio.org\/luciano-berio-estratti-di-interviste-su-coro?1129747661=1\">interviews<\/a><\/strong>; <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucianoberio.org\/coro-manuscripts?1316975746=1\">manuscript pages<\/a><\/strong>; and a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lucianoberio.org\/letter-luciano-berio-talia-pecker-berio?1338531371=1\">letter<\/a><\/strong> from the composer to his future wife and dedicatee of the composition &#8211; Talia Pecker Berio &#8211; written during the rehearsals of the premi\u00e8re.<br \/>\n<!--break--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 24 marked the 91st anniversary of Luciano Berio\u2019s birth.
